For Brian and Jenifer, finding the right church was a journey that took some time and a lot of searching. They were searching for several years, trying to find a place that felt like home. But it wasn't until their 7-year-old son, Lucas, expressed a desire to go to church that they really started to look for a place that was right for them.
"He started asking questions, things we didn't know the answer for," said Brian. "We were just looking for that feeling of 'this is where we belong'."
One day, they decided they were going to visit White Oak and when they arrived and spent the morning there, Brian and Jenifer knew that they had found their place.
"It was like a lightbulb went off," said Brian. "We found our place. I had never listened to church outside of church, but I started listening to Sunday services while I was at the grocery store, and it was like 'Oh yeah, this is it'."
Finding the right church has had a positive impact on their lives and they have become more involved in serving at the Ross Campus and helping others, with Brian even volunteering to greet people at the door every Sunday. "It's about being a part of something bigger than ourselves," says Jenifer, "it's about being a part of a family and we found that here."
